I’ve been reading Chris Dixon’s “Read Write Own” after my friend Annika’s recommendation and hearing Dixon’s interview on Hard Fork. It examines the history of the internet and discusses its future. He breaks it into 3 phases: “Read,” “Read Write,” and “Read Write Own.”
Media Diet: January 2024
Well, this was the most media I’ve consumed in a month in a very long time! A combination of spending a lot of time flying and being a bit burnt out in between trips is to blame. I have been watching various series over the last few months that I finished up.
Media Diet: December 2023
Another year of Media Diets in the books! I spent almost three weeks of December on vacation, with one week in Mexico and two weeks over the Christmas break. I watched only a few TV shows and movies then and read many books. Nothing better than being on vacation and getting cuddled up with a book! Preferably on the beach in a warm destination, but in front of a fireplace, it works in a pinch.
Things I Was Grateful For in 2023
It’s hard to believe another year has passed, and it’s time to reflect on another 12 months of life! It’s been an eventful year. Lots of travel - both for work and pleasure. Moving within Vancouver again - hopefully, I won’t repeat that in 2024.
What We Watched (And Didn't Watch): Netflix's First Engagement Report
For the first time in its history, Netflix has released detailed information on how much is being watched on the platform. After decades of secrecy and vague viewing numbers frustrating show-runners and actors, we finally have some answers. Thank you to the WGA strike for forcing the release of this data!
